continued travels

Flashback to Winter Vacation:

We were in Mumbai for only a day, but we managed to see a lot.

Our travels brought us to Malaysia next. It was like we were in America. There were more American chains and brands than India has to offer. Some things were quite cheap, while others were average or overpriced. We saw Mission Impossible 4 for about $3. The movie was in English with two different languages of subtitles.

We ate lots of beef to make up for lost time. Despite my lack of love for most of the American chains I saw, I enjoyed getting McFlurry's for about $1 and seeing American chains like Krispy Kreme, A&W, Wendy's, and Starbuck's. We spent a lot of time in malls, did minimal shopping, ate well, and saw a few sites.

We stayed at a great Hostel in Chinatown and enjoyed roaming around trying to get cheap knockoffs, but we never succeeded. The hostel was great because it had A/C, free coffee and tea, and a great lounge to watch movies on a huge TV. A nice change of pace from our previous travels.

Here I am enjoying an Oreo McFlurry.

We celebrated New Year's Eve at Petrona's Towers in Kuala Lumpur.

We then got on another jet plane and headed to Cambodia. This would be a great change of pace because it was cheap, but it was also quite dirty. We saw the obligatory Angkor Wat Temples and headed to the beach.

Then we flew to Bangkok and saw a big Buddha.

The Final Countdown

One more month. Just a mere four weeks of class before finals begin. My patience is running thin, but I have a lot to look forward to.

Briana is due to arrive on June 7th. I'm departing from Delhi on June 22. My new house is being remodeled. The basketball season ended with success. I'm figuring out how to cook good food in India. Life is... good?
